TRAFFIC LIGHT ANALYSIS
In many accidents the following
question is often asked: "Did one vehicle run the red light and
if so, how did that contribute to the accident?" In many cases we can answer this
question by analyzing the available traffic signal timing data and comparing
that to our time, speed, and distance accident reconstruction. The results
of this analysis can also be compared to the
witness testimony. The traffic signal timing data is usually maintained by
the city, state, or federal entity that has ownership of the major roadway at
the intersection. This analysis can prove very helpful when handling a
case where both drivers testify that they had the green light. |
