Bloomberg’s Accident Reconstruction Experts

Dr. David DeLonga, MD, PhD ME, PE

Dr. David DeLonga is a practicing physician and licensed professional engineer who specializes in the relationship between injuries and accidents. Dr. DeLonga received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and his Masters and Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from M.I.T. He later completed his medical training at the University of Miami School of Medicine and Harvard School of Public Health and is board certified in the areas of Diagnostic Radiology, Aerospace and Occupational Medicine and Nuclear Medicine. Dr. DeLonga utilizes engineering analysis together with medical records and anatomic/physiological imaging to determine if the injury mechanism and severity is consistent with the accident event.

Dr. J. Marcus Hollis, PhD, PE:

Biomechanical Engineer, Professional Engineer, Injury Causation & Biomechanical Expert

Dr. Hollis is a bio-mechanical engineer with a PhD from the University of California in bioengineering. He has considerable experience in the fields of Orthopedics and Biomechanics. Dr. Hollis specializes in biomechanics, injury causation, and seat belt effectiveness. He analyzes how the human body reacts to forces generated from an accident in order to determine if the injuries are consistent with the accident event. Dr. Hollis utilizes a robust 3-dimensional simulation program to determine how an occupant moves in a particular collision, what the occupant collides with, the forces that are generated, and whether seat belt use would have prevented the reported injuries.

Michael Bosworth BSME, MSCE, P.E.:

Professional Engineer Vehicle Dynamics & Accident Reconstruction Expert

Michael Bosworth, P.E. is a licensed forensic engineer with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Civil Engineering with a dual focus in transportation and construction from the University of Florida. Additionally, he has earned a certificate in Advance Vehicle Accident Reconstruction from Northwestern University and gained certification in Advanced Forensic Modeling and Simulation. Michael is a member of Chi Epsilon Engineering Honor Society and a former instructor at the University of Florida in 3-D modeling of mechanical systems.

Michael is mechanical engineer with an intimate understanding of the mechanical systems of passenger vehicles from mopeds to articulated heavy trucks. As a mechanical engineer with extensive experience in crash reconstruction, he has performed inspections, analysis and reconstruction on hundreds of traffic accident cases involving passenger vehicles, heavy trucks, IME systems and pedestrians as well as cases involving traffic construction issues and transportation safety. Additionally, he has experience analyzing non-transportation related mechanical systems for personal injury and product liability cases.

As a Civil Engineer and a Certified Structural Masonry Inspector with experience in building inspection and construction work, his forensic work includes construction project to plan compliance, as-built and construction building inspection, building construction deficiency testing, construction materials testing, failure analysis, storm damage, construction accidents, equipment malfunctions, falls, premises liability and OSHA and ADA compliance. He uses state of the art equipment including structure scanning GPR and thermal imaging.

Michael has been certified by the courts as both a vehicle crash and construction expert.
