Biomechanics and Injury Causation Expert

Dr. David DeLongDr. David DeLonga is a practicing physician and licensed professional engineer who specializes in the relationship between injuries and accidents. Dr. DeLonga received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and his Masters and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from M.I.T. He later completed his medical training at the University of Miami School of Medicine and Harvard School of Public Health and is board certified in the areas of Diagnostic Radiology, Aerospace and Occupational Medicine, and Nuclear Medicine. Dr. DeLonga utilizes his engineering analysis along with the evaluation of medical records and anatomic/physiological imaging to determine if the injury mechanism and severity is consistent with the accident event. Mr. Medwell is a consulting engineer who has been working in the accident reconstruction field since 1989. He has analyzed in excess of 2000 accidents involving cars, tractor-trailers, pedestrians, bicyclists, motorcycles, heavy trucks, etc.  Mr. Medwell has extensive experience downloading and analyzing digital forensic data from tractor-trailer and automobile electronic data recorders, video event data recorders (DriveCam, SmartDrive, etc.), heavy truck telematics systems (Qualcomm, PeopleNet, etc.), Garmin and other personal GPS based devices, and ABS systems (Bendix, Wabco, etc.).  In addition, he has extensive experience inspecting and documenting the condition of braking systems on tractor-trailers and heavy trucks.  Throughout his career, Chris Medwell has been dedicated to the use of leading-edge technology and has amassed years of experience with 3-dimensional scanning and decades of experience with robust accident reconstruction and simulation programs. Adam Van Cleave

Adam Van Cleave, MSME, ACTAR

Senior Biomechanical Consultant

Mr. Van Cleave provides consulting services to insurance carriers, law firms, and corporate clients.  He analyzes and evaluates biomechanical systems, including voluntary and involuntary human motions and provides human-injury impact analysis involving motor vehicle accidents; slip, trips, and falls; falling objects; and other accidental events. He performs analysis and reconstruction for low- to high-speed motor vehicle accidents, fatality accidents, pedestrian accidents, head impacts, vehicle rollovers, and other types of accidents to determine injury potential and consistency, seatbelt use, the effects of airbag interaction, and occupant positions.  He performs time distance analyses utilizing projection photogrammetry of video surveillance footage to determine fault in motor vehicle accidents.  Mr. Van Cleave also has expertise in sports-related injury biomechanical analysis, as well as experience in medical device root cause failure analysis. Senior Accident Reconstruction, Fleet Safety Specialist

Mr. Partenheimer has over 22 years of experience in accident reconstruction, motor carrier compliance, fleet safety, and training for the transportation industry. He holds full accreditation in accident reconstruction from the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR). Will is a Certified Director of Safety (CDS) by the North America Transportation Management Institute (NATMI). Mr. Overton is a consulting expert with over 22 years of experience in traffic crash investigation, reconstruction and analysis, and fleet safety compliance.  Mr. Overton specializes in commercial vehicle crashes and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.  He has considerable experience downloading and analyzing leading-edge digital forensics data from tractor-trailer and automobile electronic data recorders (ECM, EDR, SDM, ACM, CDR, black boxes, etc.), video event data recorders (DriveCam, SmartDrive, etc.), heavy truck telematics systems (Qualcomm, PeopleNet, etc.), Garmin and other personal GPS based devices, ABS systems (Bendix, Wabco, etc.), vehicle infotainment systems and telematics devices among numerous other devices. Mr. Overton is a Berla Certified Vehicle System Forensic Examiner and a Certified Vehicle System Forensic Technician. Mr. Davis has over 20 years’ experience in the investigation and reconstruction of motor vehicle collisions. Prior to joining Bloomberg Consulting he served as a Traffic Homicide Investigator, Supervisor, and Bureau Commander for the Montgomery Police Department in Montgomery, AL. While with MPD, he investigated more than 3500 traffic collisions and supervised the investigations of hundreds of serious and fatal traffic collisions involving commercial vehicles, passenger vehicles, pedestrians, bicyclists, motorcycles, etc. He has considerable experience with leading-edge technology in the field, including EDR “black box” and other electronic data retrieval systems, 3-D scanning equipment, and robust 3-dimensional accident reconstruction animation programs.  He also has extensive experience inspecting and documenting the condition of braking systems on tractor-trailers and heavy trucks.  Mr. Davis is also trained in the interrogation and analysis of digital video evidence. He has experience managing videos from dash cameras, surveillance cameras, body cameras or other sources to make determinations of speed, time, distance, traffic signal sequences, use of turn signals, and other important factors used in accident reconstruction and producing demonstrative exhibits to highlight areas of concern. Mr. Bonin specializes in the investigation and reconstruction of motor vehicle collisions. Amanda Alberson

Point Cloud and Graphics Specialist

Amanda Alberson joined Bloomberg Consulting the summer of 2015.  Prior to coming to Bloomberg Consulting, she worked as a logistics analyst where she designed and implemented supply chain solutions in the automotive and fast-moving consumer goods sectors to include inbound transportation, warehousing, outbound transportation, inventory management, packaging, and warehouse management systems design.   Amanda holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Florida.  She is a proficient user of the Faro 3D Laser Scanner and the FARO software Scene and Reality.  As our scanning specialist, Amanda is responsible for processing raw 3D scan data and generating 3D models for the use in accident reconstructions and animations.

Loraine Price has an extensive background in healthcare education, sales, and marketing. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Pennsylvania State University and earned a certificate in infectious disease control from the University of North Carolina, School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, N.C., where she also worked as a clinical instructor in the UNC School of Medicine. She moved to Pensacola in 1995, where she is an active member of her church and other social organizations. When Loraine joined Bloomberg Consulting as Administrative Assistant in the summer of 2017, she brought extensive knowledge and experience in project management in the healthcare industry, and in managing a community interface with clients.  It is Loraine’s voice you typically will hear when you call Bloomberg Consulting, and if she is not able to help you with your questions and requests, she will direct your call to the engineer or staff who can.

Ashley Self

Director of Operations

Ashley Self has been with Bloomberg Consulting since 2014.  Ashley oversees the administrative structure and support for Bloomberg Consulting.  Prior to coming to Bloomberg Consulting, she worked extensively in the non-profit sector, designing and managing multisystemic therapy programs for juvenile delinquents, evaluating and training drug courts and their professionals, and facilitating the design and implementation of performance management systems for non-profit organizations.  She also has experience with community assessments, grant writing, and database development. Ashley is a graduate of Louisiana State University.
